Empowerment: The Best Prescription for Societal Abnormalities

In today’s world, with a drastic increase in crime and vices, society is dysfunctional, and strange kinds of news are emerging from all quarters across the globe, with the youth being the highest culprits. The police and economic crime fighters like EFCC, and the illegal drug combatants like NDLEA, are all engulfed and overwhelmed by the enormous level of all these societal abnormality. It seems all hope is lost, and there’s no sign of victory against this mess in our generation.
However, before we throw in the towel, let’s take a closer look at the only prescription with both preventive power and curative ability against this mess. This prescription has the ability to reverse the trend of this evil of anti-human behavior causing pain and harm to people across the globe. The solution is human capital development, which in COFFHA, we call simply call it “empowerment programs.”
Quality education has the capacity to cause positive change; it helps an individual discover and understand their unique usefulness and trains them on how they can apply it to solve societal problems and challenges. Every nation in the world must ensure constantly that their education system is fulfilling that purpose, for that is the only way we can transform an individual from liability to asset, making them problem solvers and a solution to societal burden.

Every nation in the world must ensure constantly that their education system is fulfilling that purpose, for that is the only way we can transform an individual from liability to asset, making them problem solvers and a solution to societal burden.
And this is what at COFFHA we have strategically positioned ourselves to do with each empowerment program we deploy. They are strategically designed to meet our strategic goals and objectives. This is the only way we can reverse some of the unpleasant statistics, which few are given below, using Nigeria as a case study.
– 81,746 prison inmates in Nigeria beyond the official capacity of 50,153
– Current Nigeria’s drug prevalence rate is alarming, with a 15% prevalence rate, almost tripling the global prevalence rate of 5.5%, it is as high as 20% to 40% among the youth.
– The National Multidimensional Poverty 2022 shows that 63% of Nigerians experience multidimensional poverty; in some northern states in Nigeria, it is as high as 90% currently.
– Infant mortality rate currently stands at 60.1 deaths out of every 1,000 live births before reaching their first birthday.
At COFFHA, we empower the girl child through diverse kinds of our key strategic programs to discover the treasure they are and become useful to society. We invite you to join us in this call as we lift people out of hopelessness and help them discover their true abilities and capabilities.
